Getting Started with Frappe Helpdesk
After installing Frappe Helpdesk on a new site, you’ll need to complete the initial setup before you can start managing support tickets. The setup wizard guides you through creating your administrator account and configuring basic information.
Once the setup is complete, you’ll be taken to the Ticket List where you can explore sample tickets and familiarize yourself with the Helpdesk interface.
Tip
Use a valid email address and a secure password during setup. These credentials will become your administrator account for managing your Helpdesk instance.
Launch the Setup Wizard
Open the URL of your newly installed Frappe Helpdesk site in your web browser.
If this is a fresh installation, the Setup Wizard will appear automatically.
Complete the Initial Setup
The Setup Wizard collects the basic information required to configure your Helpdesk instance.
Provide the following details:
- Country
- Your Name
- Email Address
- Password
After entering the required information, continue through the wizard to complete the setup process.
Administrator Account
The email address and password you provide during the setup wizard become the administrator credentials for your Helpdesk site. Keep these credentials secure, as they are required to log in and manage your Helpdesk instance.
Access the Ticket List
After completing the Setup Wizard, you will be automatically redirected to the Ticket List page.
This page displays several pre-created sample tickets that help you understand how tickets are organized and managed within Frappe Helpdesk.
Explore Sample Tickets
You can click any sample ticket to view its details and become familiar with the Helpdesk interface.
Exploring these sample records is a useful way to understand:
- Ticket information and layout.
- Ticket status and workflow.
- Conversations and activity history.
- Available actions and ticket management features.

Once your Helpdesk is set up, you can begin configuring your support environment by:
- Creating support agents and users.
- Configuring email accounts.
- Setting up ticket categories and priorities.
- Defining Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Customizing workflows and automations.
Note
The sample tickets are provided to help you explore the application. You can keep them for learning purposes or remove them before using Frappe Helpdesk in a production environment.
