Sidebar Migration
Wiki v2 introduces a simplified sidebar structure to make navigation easier to manage and maintain.
Unlike previous versions, which supported unlimited nested sidebars, Wiki v2 organizes content into a two-level hierarchy consisting of Wiki Groups (parent) and Wiki Pages (child).
How Migration Works
During migration, every nested Wiki Sidebar is automatically flattened into the new structure. Existing nested sidebars become top-level Wiki Groups, and their associated pages are preserved within those groups.
Before You Migrate
Before upgrading to Wiki v2, verify the following to ensure a smooth migration:
- Remove duplicate Wiki Sidebar names.
If multiple sidebars share the same name, they will be merged into a single Wiki Group during migration, causing all pages beneath them to be grouped together. - Ensure every Wiki Sidebar has a title.
Thetitlefield of every Wiki Sidebar record must be populated before migration.
Changes in Wiki v2
- Unlimited nested sidebars are no longer supported.
- Navigation now consists of two levels:
- Wiki Group (parent)
- Wiki Page (child)
- All nested sidebar levels are flattened during migration.
Important
Migration changes the sidebar structure only. Reviewing your sidebar organization before upgrading helps avoid unintended grouping of pages.
Best Practices
- Give every Wiki Sidebar a unique name before migrating.
- Ensure all sidebar records have meaningful titles.
- Review your sidebar hierarchy after migration and reorganize pages into appropriate Wiki Groups if necessary.
- Consider simplifying deeply nested structures before upgrading to make the transition easier.
