Set Up Frappe Insights
After installing Frappe Insights, you must complete the initial setup before you can start creating reports and dashboards. The setup wizard creates your administrator account and prepares your Insights workspace with sample data to help you get started quickly.
Prerequisite
Before starting the setup, ensure that Frappe Insights has been successfully installed and your site is accessible through a web browser.
Complete the Initial Setup
- Open the URL of the site where Frappe Insights is installed.
- The Setup Wizard will automatically appear for first-time configuration.
- Enter the required account information, including:
- Country
- Full Name
- Email Address
- Password
- Review the information and complete the setup process.
- After setup is finished, you will be redirected to the Insights Workbook page.
- A sample workbook populated with demo data will be available so you can explore the features of Frappe Insights immediately.
Tip
The sample workbook is a great way to understand how reports, charts, and dashboards work before connecting your own data sources.
Administrator Account
The email address and password entered during the setup wizard become your administrator credentials. This account has full access to configure Insights, manage users, connect data sources, and create reports.
Important
Store your administrator email address and password securely. You will need these credentials whenever you sign in to manage your Frappe Insights instance.
After Setup
Once the setup is complete, you can begin using Frappe Insights by:
- Exploring the sample workbook.
- Connecting your databases or external data sources.
- Creating custom queries using the visual Query Builder.
- Building charts, reports, and interactive dashboards.
- Sharing insights with your team.
