Stock Movement
Stock Movement is an inventory transaction used to record the movement of stock between inventory locations. Unlike Purchase Receipts or Shipments, a Stock Movement is not linked to a Customer or Supplier and can be used for internal inventory operations.
It allows businesses to issue stock, receive stock, transfer stock between locations, or record manufacturing activities while keeping inventory quantities up to date.
Tip
Every submitted Stock Movement updates both the Stock Ledger and Stock Balance, ensuring inventory records remain accurate.

Movement Types
Before creating a Stock Movement, choose the appropriate Movement Type. Each type determines how inventory quantities are updated.
| Movement Type | From Location | To Location | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Material Issue | Required | Not Required | Moves stock out of a location. |
| Material Receipt | Not Required | Required | Moves stock into a location. |
| Material Transfer | Required | Required | Transfers stock between two locations. |
| Manufacture | Required | Required | Consumes raw materials and adds finished goods. |
Manufacturing
For the Manufacture movement type, both From and To locations are required, but they are assigned to different items. Raw materials are issued from inventory while finished goods are received into inventory as part of the manufacturing process.
