Loan Lead is the initial borrower enquiry record used before creating a formal loan application. It captures essential borrower information such as applicant details, contact information, requested loan amount, preferred loan product, and proposed tenure.

Loan Lead helps lending teams manage incoming enquiries, perform initial qualification, and prepare eligible borrowers for the loan application process.

Loan Leads can be managed from the Lending workspace:

Home > Lending > Loan Origination > Loan Lead

Prerequisites

Before creating a Loan Lead, ensure the following are available:

  • Loan Product master
  • Basic applicant contact details

Creating a Loan Lead

Follow these steps to create a new Loan Lead:

  1. Open the Loan Lead List and click Add Loan Lead.
  2. Select the Applicant Type.
  3. Enter applicant details such as Applicant Name, Email, Mobile Number, Loan Product, and Loan Amount.
  4. Enter Proposed Tenure and other required profile information.
  5. Save and Submit the Loan Lead.

Applicant Types

Loan Lead supports different applicant categories with specific information requirements.

Applicant Type Details Captured
Individual Date of Birth is captured and applicant age is calculated.
Business Company Name can be recorded for business applicants.

Contact and Verification Readiness

Loan Lead includes contact references and verification-related fields that help teams track borrower readiness before moving ahead with the application process.

These details support activities such as:

  • Tracking mobile and email verification status.
  • Maintaining borrower contact information.
  • Preparing leads for further qualification steps.

Loan Lead Qualification

Loan Leads can move through defined qualification stages using Lending workflows. Teams can validate borrower information, perform eligibility checks, and decide whether the lead should proceed further.

Stage Purpose
Incoming Captures newly received borrower enquiries.
Scrubbing Checks whether borrower information is complete and usable.
Pre-Qualification Runs initial eligibility validations.
Qualified Moves eligible leads toward loan application creation.
Rejected Marks leads that do not meet required criteria.

Convert Loan Lead to Loan Application

Once a Loan Lead is qualified, it can be converted into a Loan Application. The system carries forward key information from the lead, including:

  • Applicant contact details.
  • Selected loan product.
  • Requested loan amount.
  • Proposed tenure.

Keeping Loan Lead information complete and accurate helps improve the quality of downstream loan applications and verification processes.
