Quizzes
Quizzes help evaluate learners’ understanding of course material. In Frappe Learning, quizzes can be added to both Courses and Batches, allowing instructors to assess learners throughout their learning journey.
Create a Quiz
To create a new quiz:
- Open the Quizzes section from the sidebar.
- Click the + Create button.
- Enter a Title for the quiz.
- Click Save.
After saving, you can configure additional quiz settings and start adding questions.
Quiz Settings
Maximum Attempts
Specify how many times learners can attempt the quiz. Set the value to 0 to allow unlimited attempts.
Duration
Set the time limit for completing the quiz.
Total Marks
The total score is automatically calculated from all quiz questions.
Passing Percentage
Define the minimum percentage required for learners to pass the quiz.
Show Answers
When enabled, learners can view the correct answers after submitting the quiz.
Show Submission History
If multiple attempts are allowed, learners can review their previous quiz attempts and scores.
Shuffle Questions
Randomizes the order of questions for every attempt, helping reduce repetitive question sequences.
Limit Questions
When question shuffling is enabled, you can choose how many random questions are displayed during each attempt.
If a quiz contains 50 questions and the question limit is set to 10, each learner will receive a different random set of 10 questions whenever they attempt the quiz.
Question Types
Multiple Choice
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) allow learners to select the correct answer from multiple options.
- Supports up to four answer options.
- One option can be marked as the correct answer.
- Optional explanations can be added for each answer.
- If Show Answers is enabled, learners can also view these explanations after submission.
User Input
User Input questions require learners to type a short answer, typically one or two words.
- Supports one or more acceptable answers.
- Responses are graded automatically by matching the learner’s answer with the predefined answers.
Open-Ended
Open-Ended questions allow learners to provide detailed written responses.
- Supports rich text formatting.
- Learners can include images or screenshots in their answers.
- Responses require manual evaluation by an instructor.
Grading Quiz Submissions
Each quiz includes a Submission List where instructors can review every learner’s attempt.
For quizzes containing open-ended questions:
- Instructors review each submission manually.
- Marks can be assigned for individual responses.
- The system automatically calculates the final score and percentage after grading.
Frappe Learning provides flexible quiz management with configurable attempts, time limits, randomized questions, automatic grading for objective questions, and manual evaluation for descriptive responses. These features help instructors create engaging assessments while giving learners clear feedback on their performance.
