Manage Notes
Notes help you capture important information about a lead or deal that doesn’t belong in a standard field. Use them to record meeting summaries, customer preferences, follow-up reminders, internal discussions, or any context your team should remember.
Tip
Use notes to document valuable conversations and important details after calls or meetings so everyone working on the opportunity has the latest context.
View All Notes
Open Notes from the sidebar to view every note across your CRM.
Notes are displayed as cards showing:
- Note title
- Note content
- Author
- Date and time created
You can search and filter notes to quickly find the information you need.
Each note is linked to its associated lead or deal, allowing you to open the related record directly from the note.
Create Notes for a Lead or Deal
Every lead and deal includes a dedicated Notes tab where you can create record-specific notes.
- Open a lead or deal.
- Select the Notes tab.
- Click + New Note.
- Enter a title.
- Write your note.
- Save the note.
Notes created within a lead or deal remain associated only with that record and are not shared across other records.
Edit Notes
You can update a note at any time by opening it from the Notes tab or the Notes list and making the required changes.
Keeping notes updated ensures your team always has access to the latest customer information.
Create a Note from the Activity Timeline
You can also create notes without leaving the activity timeline.
- Open a lead or deal.
- Go to the Activity tab.
- Click + New.
- Select Note.
- Enter the note details and save.
The new note is automatically added to both the Notes tab and the activity timeline, making it easy to keep a complete record of customer interactions.
Activity Integration
Creating notes from the Activity tab helps maintain a chronological timeline of conversations, updates, and internal observations alongside emails, calls, and other activities.
Best Practices
- Record important meeting outcomes immediately after customer conversations.
- Use descriptive titles so notes are easy to identify later.
- Keep notes concise while including all relevant context.
- Update existing notes when circumstances change instead of creating duplicate entries.
- Use notes for internal information that helps teammates continue conversations with confidence.
Note
Notes are linked only to the lead or deal where they are created. They do not automatically appear on other records, helping keep information organized and relevant.
