Manage Organizations
Organizations represent the companies or businesses your sales team works with. In B2B sales, multiple opportunities often exist with the same company at the same time, such as new sales, renewals, upsells, or cross-sell opportunities. Organizations bring all of this information together in one place, giving your team a complete view of every customer account.
Tip
Use organizations as the central account record for each company. This helps your sales team understand the complete relationship with a customer, regardless of how many deals or contacts are involved.
Work with an Organization
Opening an organization provides account information along with every associated contact and sales opportunity.
Organization Information
The details panel includes important company information such as:
- Organization name
- Website
- Territory
- Industry
- Number of employees
- Address
Most fields can be updated directly from the organization record.
Linked Deals
The Deals tab displays every sales opportunity associated with the organization.
For each deal, you can quickly view:
- Deal name
- Deal value
- Current status
This allows your sales team to monitor multiple opportunities with the same customer, including:
- New business opportunities
- Upsells
- Cross-sells
- Renewals
Linked Contacts
The Contacts tab lists everyone from the organization who is stored in your CRM.
Each contact includes key information such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
Having all stakeholders in one place makes it easier to understand who is involved in each opportunity and maintain strong customer relationships.
Account Visibility
Organizations provide a complete account overview by combining company details, associated contacts, and every active or historical deal. This gives your team the context needed before every customer conversation.
How Organizations Are Created
Organizations can be created in several ways within Frappe CRM.
- Automatically when a lead is created.
- Automatically when a lead is converted into a deal.
- Manually by creating a new organization record.
- By linking an existing organization during the lead-to-deal conversion process.
This flexibility allows you to either build your organization database gradually as new leads arrive or maintain an existing list of customer accounts.
Best Practice
Maintain a single organization record for each company. Linking all contacts and deals to the same organization creates a complete account history, improves collaboration, and prevents duplicate customer records.
Best Practices
- Use one organization record for each customer or prospect company.
- Associate all relevant contacts with the organization.
- Link every opportunity, including renewals and upsells, to the same organization.
- Keep company information such as industry, territory, and website up to date.
- Review the organization record before customer meetings to understand ongoing opportunities and previous interactions.
Next Step
After organizing your customer accounts, continue managing opportunities through Deals and build a complete sales pipeline around each organization.
