Data Tab

The Data tab provides a structured view of all fields associated with a Lead or Deal. It replaces the older side panel with a more organized layout that supports sections, tabs, columns, and child tables, making it easier to view and edit large amounts of information.

Unlike the previous side panel, the Data tab reduces scrolling and allows administrators to customize how information is presented to sales users.

What’s New?

The Data tab replaces the traditional side panel with a flexible layout that supports child tables and customizable sections, providing a cleaner and more efficient data management experience.

Why Use the Data Tab?

The Data tab is designed to improve usability by organizing information into logical groups instead of displaying every field in a single panel.

Benefits include:

  • Less scrolling when working with large records.
  • Support for child tables such as Products.
  • Better organization using tabs and sections.
  • Improved visibility of important business information.
  • Easier customization for different sales processes.

Customize the Layout

Sales Managers can customize how fields are displayed in the Data tab.

  1. Open a Lead or Deal.
  2. Go to the Data tab.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Modify the layout as required.
  5. Save your changes.

Permissions

The Edit button is only available to users with the Sales Manager role. Other users can view the layout but cannot modify it.

Layout Components

The Data tab can be organized using the following building blocks:

  • Tabs — Divide information into separate pages for easier navigation.
  • Sections — Group related fields together under meaningful headings.
  • Columns — Arrange fields side by side for better use of screen space.
  • Child Tables — Display and manage related records, such as products linked to a deal.

Benefits for Sales Teams

  • Quickly locate important customer information.
  • Reduce time spent searching through long forms.
  • View related records directly within the same page.
  • Create layouts tailored to different business workflows.
  • Improve data entry and record management efficiency.

Best Practices

  • Group related fields into logical sections.
  • Use tabs to separate different categories of information.
  • Keep frequently used fields near the top of the layout.
  • Only include fields that users need during their daily workflow.
  • Review layouts periodically as your sales process evolves.

Tip

A well-organized Data tab helps sales teams spend less time navigating forms and more time engaging with customers. Structure the layout around your team’s daily workflow rather than displaying every available field.
