Quick Entry Layout Builder

Quick Entry Layout Builder allows you to customize the layout of quick entry forms in Frappe CRM. Similar to customizing Lead and Deal pages, you can add sections, organize fields, and control how information is captured when creating new records.

This helps you design quick entry forms that match your business requirements and ensures users capture the right information during record creation.

What is Quick Entry Layout Builder?

The Quick Entry Layout Builder provides a visual way to customize the fields and structure of quick entry forms in Frappe CRM.

Using the builder, you can:

  • Add new sections to organize related information.
  • Add fields required for your workflow.
  • Move fields within or between sections.
  • Rearrange sections using drag and drop.
  • Edit section labels for better understanding.
  • Preview changes before applying them.

Customize Quick Entry Forms

Follow these steps to customize the quick entry layout:

  1. Open Quick Entry Form

    Navigate to the Lead or Deal ListView and click the Create button to open the quick entry modal.

    Click the Edit icon to open the Quick Entry Layout Builder.

  2. Select the DocType

    The DocType is automatically selected based on the current form. However, you can choose another DocType if you want to customize its quick entry form.

  3. Use the Quick Entry Layout Builder

    After selecting the DocType, the layout builder interface will open. You can modify the quick entry form using the available customization options.

    • Add Sections — Create sections to group related information together.
    • Add Fields — Insert required fields inside sections.
    • Drag and Drop Fields — Move fields within a section or between different sections.
    • Rearrange Sections — Change the order of sections based on your workflow.
    • Edit Section Labels — Rename sections to make them easier for users to understand.
  4. Preview Changes

    Use the Show Preview option to view how the customized quick entry form will appear before saving your changes.
