Customize Home Actions
The Home Actions menu lets you customize the dropdown that appears when users click the CRM logo in the upper-left corner of Frappe CRM. You can add shortcuts to frequently used pages, organize links into groups, or hide items that your team doesn’t need.
Tip
Customize Home Actions to provide quick access to commonly used applications, dashboards, documentation, or internal tools. This helps users navigate more efficiently without leaving Frappe CRM.
Open Home Actions
- Go to Settings → Home Actions.
- The list displays every item currently shown in the Home Actions menu.
- Edit an existing item or click Add Row to create a new one.
- Click Update to save your changes.
Configure a Home Action
Each row represents a single item in the Home Actions dropdown.
Label
The text displayed for the menu item.
Use clear and descriptive names so users can easily identify each shortcut.
Type
Choose the type of item to add.
- Route — Creates a clickable navigation link.
- Separator — Inserts a divider to visually organize related menu items.
Route
Specify the destination for the menu item.
This can be:
- An internal Frappe CRM route.
- A page within another Frappe application.
- An external website or web application.
Icon
Choose an icon to display next to the menu item.
- Use a Feather icon name such as
settingsorbook-open. - Or provide custom SVG code for a completely customized icon.
Enable this option to open the selected link in a new browser tab instead of replacing the current CRM page.
Hidden
Hide a menu item without deleting it. Hidden items can be re-enabled later whenever needed.
Best Practice
Use separators to group related shortcuts together. For example, keep CRM pages in one section and external business applications in another to make the menu easier to navigate.
Common Uses
- Add shortcuts to ERPNext, Helpdesk, HRMS, or other Frappe applications.
- Link to company documentation or internal knowledge bases.
- Provide quick access to frequently used reports or dashboards.
- Organize links using separators for a cleaner navigation menu.
- Hide unused default actions to simplify the interface.
Note
Changes to Home Actions affect the navigation experience for users who have access to the configured menu items. Review your shortcuts periodically to keep the menu organized and relevant.
