Complete the Initial Setup

After installing Frappe CRM, you’ll be guided through a short setup wizard to configure your workspace. The process takes only a few minutes and prepares your CRM for daily use.

Before You Begin

Have your preferred language, timezone, currency, and email address ready. These settings are used throughout your CRM and can be updated later if required.

Step 1: Configure Regional Preferences

The setup wizard first asks you to configure your regional preferences. These settings ensure that dates, times, and currency values are displayed correctly throughout the application.

  1. Select your preferred Language.
  2. Choose your Country.
  3. Select the appropriate Time Zone.
  4. Choose your default Currency.
  5. Click Next to continue.

Tip

Selecting the correct timezone and currency ensures reports, activities, and deal values are displayed accurately for your organization.

Step 2: Create Your Administrator Account

Next, create your first user account, which becomes the administrator account for your CRM instance.

  1. Enter your Full Name.
  2. Enter your Email Address.
  3. Click Complete Setup.

Your email address will be used as your login username, so use an address you have regular access to.

Note

The administrator account has full access to CRM configuration, user management, and system settings. Additional users can be invited later.

Understanding the CRM Interface

After completing the setup, you’ll be redirected to the Frappe CRM workspace. This is the primary interface your sales team will use for managing leads, deals, activities, and customer communication.

New installations include sample data, allowing you to explore the interface before importing your own records.

Frontend vs. Desk

Frappe CRM provides two interfaces designed for different types of users.

CRM Frontend

The CRM frontend is optimized for day-to-day sales activities. Sales representatives can manage leads, opportunities, tasks, communications, and pipelines through a clean, focused interface.

Desk

The Desk interface provides advanced administration and development features such as application configuration, custom fields, scripting, workflows, and other system-level settings.

Open Desk

  1. Click the CRM logo in the upper-left corner.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Choose Desk.

Inside Desk, you can quickly locate documents and settings using the global search shortcut:

Ctrl + Shift + K (Windows/Linux)
⌘ + Shift + K (macOS)

Tip

Use the CRM frontend for everyday sales work and switch to Desk only when you need advanced administration, customization, or development features.
