Change product warranty for dedicated sites
Product Warranty determines whether a site running on a dedicated server is covered under the Frappe Cloud Support SLA. Eligible sites can have Product Warranty enabled or disabled directly from the site’s actions panel, subject to server-level limits and cooldown policies.
Important
Product Warranty is not available for sites hosted on dedicated servers using Hetzner application server plans priced below $100/month.
Manage Product Warranty
You can enable or disable Product Warranty for eligible sites from the Frappe Cloud dashboard.
- Open the required Site.
- Navigate to the Site Actions section.
- Click Manage Product Warranty.
- Enable or disable the warranty option.
- Save your changes.
Warranty Cooldown Period
To prevent frequent changes, every dedicated server enforces a warranty cooldown period.
- The warranty status can only be changed once during each cooldown window.
- If the cooldown period has not expired, Frappe Cloud displays when the next change will be available.
- The warranty setting applied during initial site creation does not count toward the cooldown.
- Only warranty changes made after site creation are subject to the cooldown policy.
Warranty Quota
Each dedicated server has a limit on the number of sites that can have Product Warranty enabled simultaneously.
You can freely disable Product Warranty for one site and enable it for another, provided the total number of protected sites remains within the configured quota.
Product Warranty During Site Creation
When creating a new site on a dedicated server, Frappe Cloud automatically applies the appropriate configuration based on the server’s eligibility.
| Server Eligibility | Site Configuration |
|---|---|
| Eligible for Product Support | High Performance enabled and Product Warranty enabled. |
| Not eligible for Product Support | High Performance enabled and Product Warranty disabled. |
Default Server Configuration
Warranty settings are configured at the server level. New dedicated servers use the following default values.
| Setting | Default Value |
|---|---|
| Warranty Cooldown | 30 Days |
| Maximum Sites with Product Warranty | 5 Sites |
These defaults apply only to newly created dedicated servers. Existing server configurations remain unchanged if the platform defaults are updated later.
Customizing Warranty Settings
If you require a different warranty cooldown period or need to increase the Product Warranty quota for your server, contact the Frappe Cloud support team for assistance.
Additional Notes
- The Manage Product Warranty option is displayed only for servers where Product Warranty is supported.
- Warranty availability depends on the server configuration and hosting plan.
Best Practice
Reserve Product Warranty for your most business-critical production sites. Since each dedicated server has a limited warranty quota and cooldown period, plan warranty assignments carefully before making changes.
