Update Apps on a Private Bench Group
You can update the apps installed on your private bench group whenever new versions are available. During the update process, a new deployment is created, and the selected sites are updated with the latest app versions.
Note
Updating apps creates a new deployment and updates the selected sites. There will be a brief downtime while the update is being applied.
Update Apps
- Open your Bench Group from the Frappe Cloud dashboard.
- Click the Update Available button to view all available updates for the apps installed on your bench group.
- Select the app(s) you want to update and click Next.
- Select the site(s) where you want to apply the updated apps.
- Click Deploy and Update to start the deployment.
- A new deployment will be created. Wait for the deployment to complete. This process typically takes around 20 minutes.
- Once the deployment finishes, the selected sites will automatically update to the latest version of the selected apps.
After the Update
The deployment status can be monitored from your Bench Group dashboard. After the deployment completes successfully, your selected sites will be running the updated versions of the apps.
Best Practice
Review the release notes or changelog of the apps before updating, especially in production environments. If possible, test the update on a staging site before deploying it to production.
