Move a Site to a Different Region
The Change Region option has been integrated into the Site Migration feature. You can now move your site to a different geographic region directly from the Migrations tab, providing a unified workflow for all site migration operations.
Note
The standalone Change Region action has been replaced by the Site Migration feature. Use the migration workflow to move your site across regions.
How to Move a Site to a Different Region
- Open your Site Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Migrations tab.
- Click Trigger Migration.
- Select Move Site to Different Region as the migration type.
- Choose the destination region.
- Review the migration configuration and confirm the migration.
Private Bench Requirement
If your site is hosted on a Private Bench, the destination region must already be available for that bench before you can start the migration. If the required region has not been added, you must provision it from your bench’s Regions tab before proceeding.
Public Bench Users
Sites hosted on Public Bench Groups cannot add new regions themselves. If you need your site migrated to another region, please contact the Frappe Cloud Support team for assistance.
Migration Completion
After the migration is initiated, Frappe Cloud transfers your site to the selected region. Once the process finishes successfully, your site will begin running from the new region.
Best Practice
Plan region migrations during maintenance windows or periods of low user activity to minimize disruption. Before starting the migration, verify that the destination region is fully provisioned and available if you’re using a private bench.
