Private Benches

Private Benches give you full control over your Frappe Cloud environment. Unlike public benches managed by Frappe Cloud, private benches let you manage apps, deploy custom applications, choose deployment regions, enable SSH access, and use advanced features such as Server Scripts (v15+).

Public Benches

When you create a new site using the + New button on the Frappe Cloud dashboard, the site is hosted on a Public Bench.

Public benches are maintained entirely by the Frappe Cloud team. Users do not have control over the bench environment, including installed apps, updates, or infrastructure.

With Public Benches:

• Sites are hosted on shared, managed infrastructure.
• You cannot install custom apps.
• You cannot manage app versions or dependencies.
• All updates, security patches, and maintenance are handled by the Frappe Cloud team.

Private Benches

Private Benches provide complete control over your hosting environment. Only your own sites can be hosted on a private bench, allowing you to customize the environment to meet your requirements.

With a Private Bench, you can:

• Install custom applications.
• Manage and update app versions.
• Choose the deployment region.
• Enable SSH access.
• Use Server Scripts (Version 15 and above).
• Configure your bench according to your project’s needs.

Pricing

Private Benches are available for sites on USD 25/month plans and above.

How to Enable Private Benches

Private Benches are not available during the trial period. To use this feature:

1. Add a valid payment method to your Frappe Cloud account.
2. Create a Private Bench, add the required apps, and deploy it.
3. Create a new site inside the deployed Private Bench.
