Install Apps on Frappe Cloud

Frappe Cloud lets you install apps from the Marketplace on both public sites and sites hosted on private bench groups. The installation process differs slightly depending on how your site is hosted.

Install an App on a Public Site

Public sites can install featured apps directly from the Frappe Cloud Marketplace.

1. Open your Site dashboard.
2. Go to the Apps tab.
3. Click Install App.
4. Select the Marketplace app you want to install.
5. Confirm the installation and wait for it to complete.

Install an App on a Site in a Private Bench Group

For sites hosted on a private bench group, the app must first be added to the bench group and deployed before it becomes available for installation on the site.

Step 1: Add the App to the Bench Group

1. Open your Bench Group dashboard.
2. Navigate to the Apps tab.
3. Click Add App.
4. Select an app from the Marketplace or add a custom app.
5. After adding the app, click Update Available.
6. Create a new deployment.
7. Select the site(s) where the app should be available.
8. Click Deploy and Update and wait for the deployment to finish.

Step 2: Install the App on the Site

1. Open the Site dashboard.
2. Go to the Apps tab.
3. Click Install App.
4. Select the app that was added to the bench group.
5. Confirm the installation.

Installing Custom Apps

Private bench groups also support custom applications. After adding a custom app to the bench group and deploying the latest update, it becomes available for installation on eligible sites hosted on that bench group.
