Guidelines for publishing an app

Apps submitted to the Frappe Cloud Marketplace must meet certain requirements before they can be reviewed and published.

App Submission Requirements

Before submitting your app, ensure that it meets the following requirements:

• The app should provide value to users.
• The app should not encourage users to move away from Frappe Cloud.
• The publisher must provide valid contact information.
• The app must support the current stable version of Frappe Framework and ERPNext (if applicable).
• The app must include a logo, description, and screenshots that follow the Marketplace guidelines.

Submitting a Marketplace App

To publish your app on the Frappe Cloud Marketplace, you need to provide app details and images that follow the Marketplace content guidelines.

App Name

The app name must be unique across the Frappe Cloud Marketplace.

For example, if an app named “todo” already exists on the Marketplace, you cannot publish another app with the same name, even if it is not a fork of the existing app.

Choose a unique name that clearly identifies your app.

App Title

The App Title is displayed on the Marketplace homepage.

• The title can be different from the app name.
• The maximum length is 255 characters.

Short Description / Summary

The short description should provide a quick overview of your app’s functionality.

• Keep the description between 40-80 characters.
• Describe the app functionality in a single sentence.
• Do not repeat the app name or title in the description.
• Only capitalize proper nouns.

Long Description

The long description should explain your app in more detail.

Include information about:

• How the app is used.
• Key features and functionality.
• Additional details users should know.

Avoid the following:

• Repeating the short description.
• Adding installation instructions, as Frappe Cloud handles installation automatically.
• Adding screenshots inside the description section.

Logo Requirements

Every Marketplace app must have a custom logo image. Frappe Cloud displays app logos inside a circular frame.

Follow these logo recommendations:

• Upload an image with a minimum size of 200px × 200px.
• Use a square image with the logo placed in the center.
• Avoid using text or words inside the logo.

Logos containing text may not display clearly on smaller screens.

Category

Select the category that best represents the primary functionality of your app.

Categories help users discover apps based on their requirements.

Required URLs

Your Marketplace listing must include the following URLs:

• Support URL:
  A webpage where customers can get technical support or ask product and account-related questions.
• Privacy Policy URL:
  A webpage containing your app’s privacy policy.
