Billing Overview

Frappe Cloud follows a monthly billing cycle, while site charges are calculated on a daily (microbilling) basis. Your selected monthly plan is divided by the number of days in the current calendar month, and you are billed only for the days your site remains active on that plan.

Billing Schedule

Invoices are finalized on the last day of every month at 6:00 PM IST. Sites created after this cutoff are included in the following month’s billing cycle.

View Billing Information

You can manage your billing details and monitor your current usage from the Billing section of your Frappe Cloud dashboard.

The dashboard displays:

  • Current month’s estimated charges
  • Billing history and invoices
  • Payment information
  • Resource usage across all your sites

How Daily Billing Works

When you choose a monthly hosting plan, its cost is divided by the total number of days in the current month. You are then charged that daily amount for every day your site remains active.

Because months have different numbers of days, the daily rate changes slightly each month while the total monthly cost remains approximately the same.

Example 1: Using the Same Plan for the Entire Month

Suppose your site is hosted on a USD 100/month plan throughout a 30-day month.

Plan Days Daily Rate Total
USD 100 30 USD 3.33/day USD 99.90

The daily rate changes depending on the month:

  • 31-day month → approximately USD 3.23/day
  • 30-day month → approximately USD 3.33/day
  • 29-day month (Leap Year) → approximately USD 3.45/day
  • 28-day month → approximately USD 3.57/day

Example 2: Changing Plans During the Month

If you upgrade or downgrade your hosting plan during the month, billing is calculated separately for each plan based on the number of days it was active.

For example, during a 31-day month:

  • USD 200 plan for the first 15 days
  • USD 500 plan for the remaining 16 days
Plan Days Daily Rate Charge
USD 200 15 USD 6.45/day USD 96.77
USD 500 16 USD 16.13/day USD 258.07
Total USD 354.84

Example 3: Deleting a Site Mid-Month

If you delete a site before the end of the month, you are billed only for the days it remained active.

For example, if a site on a USD 200/month plan is deleted after four days during a 31-day month:

Plan Days Active Daily Rate Total Charge
USD 200 4 USD 6.45/day USD 25.80
Important

Even if you delete all your sites before the end of the month, the invoice is still generated at the regular billing cycle on the last day of the month.

Best Practice

Review your estimated monthly charges regularly from the Billing dashboard, especially after upgrading plans, creating new sites, or deleting existing ones. This helps you avoid unexpected charges at the end of the billing cycle.
