Daily Work Summary Group in Frappe HR: Automated Daily Work Reporting
To make daily reporting easy, Frappe HR can ask employees to send their work summaries by email. The Daily Work Summary is an automated way of collecting each employee’s daily work reporting across the organisation — the system prompts them, and their replies come back as a summary.
To configure a new group, go to Human Resources > Settings > Daily Work Summary Group. You can set up multiple groups, each with a different set of users, its own ‘Send Emails At’ time, and a separate Holiday List — and you can customise the message sent to users.
1. Prerequisites
Before creating a Daily Work Summary Group, you need to set up:
- An Email Account — so the summary emails can be sent and replies received.
2. How to create a Daily Work Summary Group
- Go to Daily Work Summary Group > New.
- Enter the name of the Daily Work Summary Group.
- Add the users’ names in the Users table.
- Set the Send Emails At time — when the daily work summary email goes out.
- Select a Holiday List (optional). On these days, the summary email won’t be sent.
- In the Reminder section, enter the mail Subject and type in the Message.
- Save.
NOTE
A few things to keep in mind:
If no Holiday List is selected, the email is sent every day. The name of the group is used as the title of the daily summary email. And mail is not sent to the users of a disabled Daily Work Summary Group.
TIP
Set the ‘Send Emails At’ time to suit each team — for instance, near the end of their working day, so people report while the day is fresh. With separate groups, different teams can have their own timing, holiday list, and message wording.

SUMMARY
A Daily Work Summary Group automates daily work reporting by emailing employees to send their work summaries. Create one (after setting up an Email Account) with a name, the users, a ‘Send Emails At’ time, an optional Holiday List, and a reminder subject and message. You can run multiple groups with their own users, timing, and holiday lists. With no holiday list, emails go out every day; the group name becomes the email title; and disabled groups don’t send mail.
