Job Opening in Frappe HR: Advertising a Vacancy

A Job Opening is an advertised vacancy for a role. It defines the position you’re hiring for and can be published to your website’s careers page, so candidates can find it and apply with each application becoming a Job Applicant record in Frappe HR.

You will find it under Home > Human Resources > Recruitment > Job Opening.

BEFORE YOU START

Have the Designation, Department, and Company ready. If you use them, an approved Job Requisition and a Staffing Plan connect the opening back to your planned headcount.

How to create a Job Opening

  1. Open the Job Opening list and click New.
  2. Enter the Job Title and select the Designation, Company, and Department.
  3. Set the Status (Open) and the number of Vacancies.
  4. Add a Description covering the role, responsibilities, and requirements, and set details like Employment Type and Location.
  5. Optionally set the salary range (lower and upper) and currency.
  6. Save.

Publishing to your careers page

To make the opening visible to candidates, enable Publish and set its Route (the page URL). The opening then appears on your website’s careers/jobs page, where applicants can read it and submit an application directly no manual posting elsewhere required.

Vacancies and the staffing plan

If you maintain a Staffing Plan, the opening’s vacancies are checked against it, so you can’t advertise more positions than were planned and budgeted for that designation. It keeps live hiring tied to your approved headcount.

TIP

Write the description for the candidate, not just internal records clear responsibilities, must-have skills, and what makes the role appealing. Since this is what gets published to your careers page, a well-written opening directly affects the quality of applicants you attract.

SUMMARY

A Job Opening advertises a vacancy and can be published to your website’s careers page. Create one with a job title, designation, company, department, status, vacancies, a candidate-facing description, and details like employment type, location, and salary range. Enable Publish and set a route to make it live, where applications create Job Applicant records. If a Staffing Plan exists, vacancies are checked against it so hiring stays within approved headcount.
