How to Change the Credit Card for Your ERPNext Subscription
On ERPNext.com, subscriptions can be purchased using either PayPal or a Credit Card. Once a subscription is active, payments are automatically deducted according to the selected billing cycle.
If you want to switch to a different credit card for future payments, the current subscription must first be canceled. After the subscription expires, you can subscribe again using the new payment method.
ERPNext does not allow changing the payment card directly on an active subscription. The existing subscription must be canceled before re-subscribing with a new card.
Step 1: Open Manage Subscription
Navigate to:
Settings > Manage Subscription
This page displays your current subscription details, billing information, and expiry date.
Step 2: Cancel the Existing Subscription
From the subscription management page:
- Open the subscription checkout page.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
- Select the option to Cancel Subscription.
- Confirm the cancellation request.
Canceling the subscription stops future renewals but does not immediately terminate your active service.
Step 3: Wait for the Current Subscription to Expire
After cancellation:
- Your existing subscription remains active until the expiration date.
- You can continue using the service during the active subscription period.
- No additional recurring charges will be processed.
Step 4: Subscribe Again Using the New Credit Card
Once the current subscription expires:
- Visit the subscription page.
- Select the desired plan.
- Proceed to checkout.
- Enter the details of the new credit card.
- Complete the payment process.
The new subscription will then be activated using the updated payment method.
A new credit card can only be added when creating a new subscription after the previous subscription has expired.
How to Check Your Subscription Expiry Date
You can verify the remaining validity of your subscription by navigating to:
Settings > Manage Subscription
The subscription page displays:
- Current plan details
- Subscription status
- Renewal information
- Expiry date
