Delivery Trip
A Delivery Trip records customer deliveries that are carried out in a single vehicle. It helps you plan multiple delivery stops, assign a driver, and manage all deliveries in one structured route.
Multiple customers and stops can be added in a single trip, and each stop can be linked to submitted Delivery Notes for proper tracking and execution.
1. How to create a Delivery Trip
A Delivery Trip can be created either directly or from a Delivery Note for faster workflow integration.
- Go to Stock > Stock Transactions > Delivery Trip > New.
- Select a Driver and Vehicle (create them if not already available).
- Set the Date along with Departure Date and Time for planning the trip schedule.
- Add Customers in the delivery stops table. The system will fetch the address automatically if it is already configured in the Customer master.
- You can also fetch customers directly using Get Customers From > Delivery Note.
- Add additional stops manually if required by inserting new rows in the table.
- Save the document and Submit to confirm the delivery route.
Delivery Trips are typically generated after Delivery Notes are prepared, allowing warehouse and logistics teams to consolidate multiple deliveries into a single optimized route.
2. Features
2.1 Calculate Estimated Arrival Times
If both the Customer address and Driver location are configured, the system can calculate estimated arrival times for each delivery stop.
This helps in better scheduling and communication with customers.
The estimation is powered through route data fetched from mapping services like Google Maps.
2.2 Optimize Route
The Delivery Trip system can automatically suggest an optimized route for all stops in the trip.
This ensures reduced travel time, lower fuel costs, and improved delivery efficiency by arranging stops in the most effective order.
Route optimization helps logistics teams minimize delays and ensures that multiple deliveries are completed in a single trip with maximum efficiency.
