Sending Documents as Email in ERPNext
In ERPNext, any document can be directly sent as an email along with its PDF attachment.
You can send documents like Sales Orders, Invoices, and Quotations directly via Menu > Email.
1. How to Send a Document as Email
- Open any document.
- Click on Menu > Email.
- Fill in the email details and send.
Once sent, the email is added to the Email Queue for processing.
2. Email Queue
After sending, emails remain in the queue with status like Sending or Sent.
If an email fails, it can be retried using Send Now.
3. Email Options
- To: Primary recipients of the email.
- From: Choose outgoing email account if multiple are configured.
- CC: Keeps additional recipients in the loop.
- BCC: Hides recipients from others in the email thread.
- Email Template: Use predefined templates for standard communication.
- Send me a copy: Sends a copy to the sender.
- Send Read Receipt: Notifies when email is read.
- Attach Document Print: Attaches PDF version of the document.
- Select Attachments: Add extra files if needed.
4. Print and Language Settings
- Select Print Format: Choose layout of the PDF document.
- Select Language: Generate PDF in a specific language.
The document email feature ensures seamless sharing of business records directly from ERPNext with full control over format and attachments.
