Create a Blog Post

Follow these steps to publish a new blog article:

  1. Create a new Blog Post.
  2. Enter the Title.
  3. Select the appropriate Blog Category.
  4. Select the Blogger (author).
  5. Write the article content.
  6. Enable the Published checkbox.
  7. Save the document.
  8. Click See on Website to preview the published article.
Blog Intro
The Blog Intro provides a short description of the article that appears immediately below the title and before the main content. It is also commonly displayed in blog listings.

Writing Blog Content

ERPNext supports multiple content formats so authors can create articles in the style they prefer.

Content Format Description
Rich Text Visual editor suitable for most users.
Markdown Simple formatting language for structured content.
HTML Provides complete control over page layout and formatting.
Rich Text and Markdown are recommended for most blog articles because they are easy to edit and maintain.
Images can be embedded in Rich Text directly. For Markdown and HTML, upload the images first and reference their attachment URLs.

Comments

Readers can leave comments on blog posts to encourage discussions and engagement.

Enable or disable comments for individual posts using the Disable Comments option.

When Disable Comments is enabled, visitors can read the article but cannot submit comments.

Every blog post is associated with a Blogger, which represents the article’s author.

Blogger Profile Includes

  • Author name
  • Short biography
  • Profile avatar

The blogger profile is automatically displayed at the end of published blog posts.

Blog Category

Blog Categories help organize articles into logical sections, making it easier for readers to browse related content.

Each category automatically generates its own page listing all associated blog posts.

SEO (Meta Tags)

SEO Setting Purpose
Meta Description Provides a summary shown in search engine results.
Meta Image Displays a featured image when the blog is shared.
If no Meta Description is entered, ERPNext automatically uses the Blog Intro or the first 140 characters of the article.
If no Meta Image is specified, ERPNext automatically selects the first image used within the blog.

After publishing a blog, you can verify how it appears when shared on social media platforms using their preview tools.
