BOM Stock Report
BOM Stock Report is a Manufacturing report in ERPNext that compares the raw materials required for a Bill of Materials (BOM) with the available inventory in a selected warehouse. It helps production planners determine whether sufficient materials are available to begin manufacturing and quickly identifies potential stock shortages.
This report has been deprecated in ERPNext Version 16. Users should use the BOM Stock Analysis report for the same functionality.
Accessing the BOM Stock Report
The report is available from:
Home → Manufacturing → Reports → BOM Stock Report
How the Report Works
After selecting a Bill of Materials (BOM) and a warehouse, ERPNext compares the required quantities of raw materials with the stock currently available in that warehouse.
The report displays:
- Raw materials required by the selected BOM.
- Required quantity for each material.
- Available stock quantity in the selected warehouse.
- Material availability status.
This enables users to determine whether production can begin immediately or if additional procurement is required.
Material Availability Indicators
The report uses color indicators to highlight stock availability.
- Green indicates that sufficient stock is available to manufacture the selected BOM.
- Red indicates that the available stock is insufficient and additional materials are required before production can begin.
These visual indicators help production planners quickly identify shortages without manually comparing inventory levels.
Operational Note
The BOM Stock Report evaluates inventory based on the warehouse selected in the report filters. Material availability may differ when a different warehouse is selected.
Business Benefits
- Compares BOM material requirements with available inventory.
- Identifies raw material shortages before production begins.
- Uses visual indicators for quick inventory assessment.
- Helps production planners make informed manufacturing decisions.
- Supports better inventory and procurement planning.
Key Summary
BOM Stock Report helps manufacturers verify whether sufficient raw materials are available to produce a selected Bill of Materials by comparing required quantities with warehouse inventory. Although deprecated in ERPNext Version 16 and replaced by BOM Stock Analysis, it remains a useful reference for understanding BOM-based inventory availability.
