Braintree Integration
The Braintree Integration enables ERPNext to securely accept online payments through Braintree. Once configured, ERPNext automatically creates the required payment gateway records and links them with your accounting system, allowing customers to complete payments directly from Payment Requests.
- Connect ERPNext with your Braintree merchant account.
- Accept secure online payments through Payment Requests.

- Automatically create Payment Gateway and Bank Account records.
How to Access Braintree Settings
Navigate to:
Explore > Integrations > Braintree SettingsSetting Up Braintree
To enable Braintree payments, configure the following credentials obtained from your Braintree Merchant Account:
- Merchant ID
- Public Key
- Private Key
ERPNext also allows you to configure multiple Braintree payment gateways. The selected Payment Gateway Account determines which Braintree merchant account is used when processing customer payments.
Enable the Payment Gateway
After entering the required credentials:
- Open Braintree Settings.
- Enter the Merchant ID, Public Key, and Private Key.
- Enable the integration.
- Save the document.
- A Payment Gateway record is created.
- A Bank account is added to the Chart of Accounts.
- A Payment Gateway Account is created for further configuration.
Configure the Payment Gateway Account
The Payment Gateway Account acts as the central configuration point for Braintree payments. From this document you can:
- Select the bank account to receive payments.
- Change the default bank account if necessary.
- Configure the default Payment Request email template.
- Manage gateway-specific payment settings.
Once this configuration is complete, your ERPNext instance is ready to accept online payments through Braintree.
