Campaign
A Campaign in ERPNext represents a structured marketing initiative designed to promote products or services and achieve specific business objectives. Campaigns help organizations execute targeted marketing strategies to generate leads, increase sales opportunities, improve customer engagement, and strengthen brand awareness.
Unlike individual marketing activities, a campaign groups related promotional efforts under a single record, making it easier to measure performance and evaluate marketing effectiveness.
By linking leads, opportunities, quotations, email campaigns, and social media activities to a campaign, ERPNext provides complete visibility into the results generated by each marketing initiative.
Campaign management enables organizations to organize marketing activities, monitor campaign performance, measure return on investment (ROI), and improve future marketing decisions.
How to Create a Campaign

This relationship allows ERPNext to trace every sales opportunity back to its originating marketing campaign.
- Associate Leads with campaigns.
- Link Opportunities generated from marketing activities.
- Tag Quotations created as a result of campaign-generated opportunities.
- Track campaign contribution throughout the sales pipeline.
Linking sales documents to campaigns helps organizations evaluate campaign effectiveness by comparing generated business against marketing investment.
View Leads Generated by a Campaign
ERPNext allows users to review every Lead associated with a particular Campaign directly from the Campaign document.
Users can:
- View all leads generated by the campaign.
- Open the filtered Lead List directly from the Campaign.
- Create new Leads that are automatically linked to the campaign.
Email Campaign Scheduling
For email-based marketing initiatives, Campaigns can be integrated with Email Campaigns to automate customer communication.
A campaign schedule defines when emails should be sent after the campaign begins.
- Select an Email Template for each scheduled email.
- Specify the number of days after the campaign start date when the email should be sent.
- Create multiple scheduled emails as part of a single campaign.
Email scheduling enables organizations to automate follow-up communication, ensuring prospects receive timely and consistent marketing messages.
Campaign Dashboard
Each Campaign includes a dashboard that provides a centralized view of all marketing activities associated with it.
The dashboard displays:
- Linked Email Campaigns.
- Associated Social Media Posts.
- Options to create new Email Campaigns.
- Options to create new Social Media Posts directly from the Campaign.
Typical Use Cases
Campaigns can be used for various marketing initiatives, including:
- Product launch campaigns.
- Email marketing campaigns.
- Social media promotions.
- Trade shows and exhibitions.
- Seasonal promotional campaigns.
- Regional or geographical marketing initiatives.
- Customer engagement and brand awareness programs.
A company launches a new product and creates a Campaign named Summer Product Launch. Leads generated through advertisements, follow-up email campaigns, and quotations created during the promotion are all linked to this campaign. This enables the marketing team to measure how many leads, opportunities, and sales were generated from the initiative and assess its overall success.
