Website Item

Summary: The Website Item DocType stores all website-specific information for an Item in ERPNext. Once a Website Item is created, the Item becomes available on your webshop, where you can manage product descriptions, images, stock visibility, SEO, recommendations, offers, and pricing independently from the Item master.
Prerequisite: Before publishing products, ensure the required Item records have already been created in ERPNext.

Website-specific information has been separated from the Item master into the Website Item DocType. This allows businesses to maintain product information specifically for the online store without affecting inventory or accounting data.

Publishing an Item

Publishing an Item on the website is a simple one-click process.

  1. Open the required Item.
  2. Click Actions → Publish in Website.
  3. ERPNext automatically creates a Website Item.
  4. The product immediately becomes available on the webshop.
Result: After publishing, the product appears on the /all-products page and becomes accessible through its individual product page.
Tip: Inside the Website Item document, click See on Website to preview the published product page.
